Dr. 吉尔 Ostrem is a neurologist with a special interest in treating movement disorders, 包括帕金森病, 肌张力障碍和特发性震颤. She is medical director and division chief of the UCSF Movement Disorders and Neuromodulation Center.

Ostrem earned her medical degree from the George Washington University. She completed a residency in neurology and a fellowship in movement disorders at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center.

2003年加入加州大学旧金山分校, Ostrem helped establish its internationally recognized clinical, research and training center for the treatment of movement disorders. The center has a long history and expertise in treating 帕金森病 and dystonia with DBS.     Dr. Ostrem is the head of the Movement Disorders Clinic. Each visit is split 45 minutes with the fellow and 15 minutes combined with both the fellow and her. 这似乎行得通. Her overall level of care and concern fo me seems fine but on a personal level as her patient I feel less and less connected....as though her task is to see that my results under her treatment are good but there is no need to connect with me as a human being. This is in contrast to my feelings when she initially became my doctor. I believe her treatment plan for me has always been very effective.
